The Procedure

The annual consumer award “KitchenInnovation of the Year®” is designed to provide a practical guide for shoppers by highlighting particularly consumer-friendly products. There is only one way to judge the whole product objectively, and that is to consult both experts and consumers themselves. This two-stage process is a unique feature of the “KitchenInnovation of the Year®” award:


Stage 1: Nomination

In the first stage, a jury will nominate outstanding products in each category based on a standardised inspection procedure. The consumers can then vote for the nominated products.


Stage 2: Consumer vote

How far a product responds to consumer needs is best judged by consumers themselves. Consequently, it is their evaluation which forms the next stage of the process, and their vote which decides the winner of the coveted award: This is done via a representative poll conducted by the renowned market research institute K & A BrandResearch in which consumers select the most popular products.


Award and market research data:

The winners selected by the jury and consumers are awarded the distinction “KitchenInnovation of the Year® 2018”. Genuine added value: a breakdown of the results from the consumer poll will be made available to all nominees and winners free of charge for their own analysis  purposes.
